Sébastien Deshaies was named winner of the Grands Prix Culturels de Trois-Rivières for the Performing Arts in 2005 and 2013.

TRIBUTE TO JEAN CARIGNAN : Sébastien Deshaies (violin)

Tribute to the fiddler “Ti-Jean Carignan”, traditional Quebec musician, self-taught and undeniable virtuoso. 

André Gagnon even dedicated the Concerto for Carignan and Orchestra to him, a recorded version of which is available on the album “Neiges”. 

 Sébastien Deshaies, violinist and virtuoso guitarist, will present a tribute dedicated to this exceptional musician whose musical trajectory remains unique.

This presentation features works drawn exclusively from his repertoire of traditional violin music from Quebec, Ireland and Scotland.

Duo Contra-Danza



Composed of clarinettist Denis Doucet and guitarist Sébastien Deshaies, Duo Contra-Danza was created in 2007. At the base of their alliance is a common passion for world and classical music, focused on rhythm and dance. Over the years and due to their countless concerts throughout Quebec, they have developed a unique and original repertoire.

These two musicians offer a lively show thus creating a cool invigorating and friendly interaction with their audience.

The masterful blending of their instrumental sonority renders their combined musical effects unique and fully worthy of discovery.
